Resolved Chest tightness

Posted by User | 2021-03-17 | General health

I have been having chest tightness for more than 2 weeks now. I'm not sure what's the cause and have consulted a doctor in polyclinic.

He suspected it might be due to gastric influx but after taking medication for a couple of days, I do not feel better.

I'm worried it might be something more serious but don't know who to consult with.

Hello there.

The most common causes of chest tightness are:

1) Cardiac(Heart) issues

2) Respiratory issues (lung and breathing)

3) Reflux - does not seem to be the case as the medications are not helping. But may need a gastroscope.

4) Breast hormonal pains

Your polyclinic doctor can assist by investigating and checking each of those factors. If you are still experiencing the chest tightness, then it may be prudent to seek assistance from specialist doctors.

I do hope that helps

Thanks

Dr. Anthony
