In the show Records of Youth, a group of men went to get HPV vaccinations because one of their girlfriends requested, saying if both are vaccinated, the chances of getting cervical cancer is lower. Is it true? Should I also get my boyfriend to get the HPV vaccination?

1. Yes it is true.

2. Yes, you should advice your boyfriend to get the HPV vaccine as well because not only will it reduces your risk of having future cervical cacner but it will significantly reduces his risk of getting anal cancer in future. The HPV vaccine is licensed in both men and women. For Singaporean boys and men, the HPV vaccine is licensed to protect them from HPV infection that can lead to anal cancer in future.
